Mars landing

A spirit of daring to be the first and to explore

The persistent pursuit of Henlius to spur innovation

The "Mars Landing H" is initiated by Henlius to catalyse novel solutions to tackle unmet clinical needs. We are moving on the mission of inviting top talents and introducing novel techniques, to support major priorities in target discovery, diagnosis and treatment of major diseases, and biomedical research. By boosting interdisciplinary interactions and collaborating with academia, Henlius hope to take research out of literature and laboratories to achieve real-world impacts.

Mars landing H Aims

Successful proposals will align with one of the aims outlined below.

Aim 1. Next generation technology for targeted drug delivery
The goal of drug delivery is to deliver drugs to the target site with predetermined release kinetics and duration, resulting in safe and effective therapeutics. To meet current and future unmet needs, innovative drug delivery technologies are needed to enable targeted drug delivery and overcome biological barriers.

Aim 2. Next generation cell therapy

The tremendous breakthrough of CAR-T in hematologic tumours has made cell therapy a hot topic, but first-generation cell therapy still has many technical challenges to be solved, such as toxicity to normal cells, causing immune rejection in patients, poor performance in solid tumours, and complex preparation and treatment processes. In the face of these challenges, more innovative cell therapy technologies are on the way now.

Aim 3. Advanced multiple Omics technology

Multiple omics technologies, including genomic/transcriptomic sequencing and proteomic/metabolomic mass spectrometry, can enhance our understanding of disease through data integration and analysis, and help guide more precise and personalized clinical decisions. To study complex biomedical problems, more advanced multi-omics technologies and analytical methods are needed.

Aim 4. In vivo cell fate reprogramming and cell engineering technology

In vivo reprogramming of specific cells can enable them with new functions or make them differentiate into other cell types. For example, in situ genetic modification of immune cells can give them the function of targeting specific proteins for developing targeted therapies. Beyond this, cell engineering technology has the potential for a much wider range of applications.

Aim 5. Novel molecular probes and molecular diagnostic techniques

The development of novel molecular probes and molecular diagnostic technologies is important for guiding the diagnosis and therapeutics of diseases. In conducting research on disease target screening, early diagnosis, and targeted therapy, we need continuously innovative molecular probes and molecular diagnostic technologies to continuously improve sensitivity, specificity, and operational convenience.

Aim 6. Analysis and application solution of massive medical information data

Clinical big data mining has great potential and value in assessing patient risk, building disease prediction models, assisting clinical decision making, and optimizing medical processes, but also faces challenges such as irregularity and timeliness of data. How to extract useful information from complex medical data will be one of the problems to focus on in the future.

Application Process & Timeline

Whom We Are Looking For

MS, Ph.D. graduates or Postdoctoral scientists from top universities and institutes in life science or a related field

A research scientist who is thinking BIG and ambitious enough to climb the scientific peak. On the other hand, this scientist is able to come down to earth to turn ideas into technologies/therapies to address unmet clinical needs.
